Medical delivery extended, more micro staff

Beginning July 1, 2026, dispensaries that converted a license or are registrants with the LaPrade Commission can keep delivering medical cannabis until July 1, 2027. Starting the same date, a delivery‑only micro dispensary can employ up to 20 registered cannabis agents, up from 10. The 20‑agent limit applies only to micro dispensaries that sell by delivery without a storefront. All such employees must be registered cannabis agents.

Standard training for cannabis workers

Beginning July 1, 2026, cannabis workers must complete a state‑approved training program. On‑site consumption employees and all registered cannabis agents, including volunteers, must finish it within 90 days of starting and repeat it every 2 years. A “cannabis agent” includes employees, volunteers, and anyone authorized to act for a licensee or registrant. Training programs must last at least 2 hours in class or online, include testing, certification, and records, and cover key law and safety topics. The Administration approves programs, gives priority to ones previously approved as responsible vendor training, and will set detailed rules. On‑site consumption sites must also keep cannabis display and use out of public view.
