More veterans’ groups can get clubhouse license

Beginning July 1, 2026, Anne Arundel County lets more veterans’ groups get a Class C clubhouse alcohol license. A local unit must be made up only of Uniformed Services members, including those from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Public Health Service. It must have a national charter issued before it applies, at least 100 members, and dues of at least $5 a year. It must operate for its members and meet in a clubhouse mainly used by members. The license allows beer, wine, and liquor sales for drinking on site, including at events, to members and their guests, only at the licensed location. These rules apply only in Anne Arundel County.

Outside events need a per diem license

Beginning July 1, 2026, if a veterans’ clubhouse hosts your group’s event, your group must get a temporary Class C per diem beer, wine, and liquor license from the county Board. This makes the outside organizer, not the clubhouse, hold the event’s alcohol license.
