Medicaid collaborative care with no copays

Beginning July 1, 2026, Maryland Medicaid covers collaborative care in primary care clinics. The state pays providers for team-based mental health care integrated with medical care. You pay no copays, coinsurance, or deductibles for these services in Medicaid primary care. Care includes coordination, tracking results, and specialist consults when needed.

Private plans must cover collaborative care

Starting January 1, 2027, health insurers, HMOs, and nonprofit plans in Maryland must cover collaborative care. This is team-based mental health care integrated into primary care. The law does not ban copays, coinsurance, or deductibles for these private plans.
