Scholarships for police, probation, and corrections

Beginning July 1, 2026, Maryland offers scholarships for police, probation, and correctional careers. You qualify if you are a Maryland resident or a Maryland high school graduate. You must be accepted or enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student at a Maryland public university or community college, full‑ or part‑time. Degree and certificate programs both count if they build your officer career. Current officers can also get awards to advance their careers. You must sign a letter to serve in Maryland for at least 5 years within 8 years after graduation. If you do not finish the program or do not meet the service time, you must repay the scholarship.
