Beginning June 1, 2026, if the Seat Pleasant Police Department joins the state Law Enforcement Officers’ Pension System, covered officers must enroll. Coverage applies to permanent full‑time officers who were in that role before and through June 1, 2026, and to anyone in a permanent full‑time role after that date. Officers who worked there in a permanent full‑time job before and stayed through June 1, 2026 get credit in the state system for that earlier Seat Pleasant service. That time counts toward retirement eligibility and pension amounts.
