Bigger county license board, new appointments

In Anne Arundel County, the Board of License Commissioners grows from three to five members on July 1, 2026. The Governor must choose members from a list provided by the county’s House and Senate delegations and may ask for a new list at any time. When the Senate is in session, appointments need its advice and consent. Recess picks must be confirmed when the Senate next meets. The two new members’ first terms start May 2, 2027.

Conflict of interest policy required

The Anne Arundel County Board of License Commissioners must adopt and publish a written conflict‑of‑interest and recusal policy starting July 1, 2026.

Party and district limits for seats

In Anne Arundel County, no more than three board members may be from the same political party starting July 1, 2026. No more than two members may live in the same Maryland legislative district.
