Appraisal training grants for minority residents

Beginning July 1, 2026, Maryland’s Higher Education Commission runs a grant program for appraisal training. It gives grants to minorities who live in historically redlined or underrepresented Maryland communities and are pursuing Practical Applications of Real Estate Appraisal (PAREA). The goal is to close appraisal gaps in those neighborhoods and diversify the field. The law does not set grant amounts or explain how to apply.
