Stricter tax clearance to renew licenses

Beginning July 1, 2026, license holders must give the Board a certificate by March 30 each year showing all personal property taxes due to the City or State are paid. The deadline moves from October 30 to March 30. If you miss the date, the Board suspends your renewal license right away, without a hearing. When you present the certificate, the Board must reinstate the license right away.

Holiday Sunday sales for Class A stores

Beginning July 1, 2026, Class A license holders in Baltimore City can sell on Sundays between Thanksgiving and New Year’s from 1 p.m. to 9 p.m. You must pay $120 for each Sunday you use this privilege. The old rule to pay by September 30 is removed. You may also pick up to two other Sundays each year by paying $120 at least two weeks before each one.

Alcohol rules apply only inside Baltimore City

Beginning July 1, 2026, Baltimore City’s alcoholic beverage rules in Title 12 apply only inside the city. People and businesses outside the city are not governed by these city rules.
