Annual $10M for Capital Region hospital

Beginning July 1, 2026, the Governor must include $10 million each year for the University of Maryland Capital Region Medical Center. The money can be used only to complete the move into the University of Maryland system, expand access and quality of care, and help prevent operating losses. The law also cancels the old rule that ended this funding on June 30, 2028. This keeps the legal authority and yearly support in place after 2028 for patients in Prince George’s County and Southern Maryland.
