The law moves the annual campaign finance report to the fourth Wednesday in January, replacing the old third‑Wednesday date. Continuing political committees must file this report every year they exist. The January report must include activity through the 14th day before it is due. These changes take effect July 1, 2026.
The State Board of Elections cannot start Fair Campaign Financing Fund payments before July 1 of the year before an election. This replaces the old earliest start in January of the year before the election. Payments still require Board certification of eligibility and follow Board rules. The change takes effect July 1, 2026.
