If you publicize, sell tickets for, or stage a related event knowing no permit was obtained, the Board may fine you $1,000 to $3,000 and may suspend your license. A violator cannot get a Related Event Promoter’s Permit for at least one year. These penalties apply in Baltimore City while the law is in force.
A State Caterer must get a Class C per diem license before acting as a participating license holder at a CIAA‑related event. If a caterer takes part without it, the Executive Director may fine $1,000 to $3,000 and may suspend the State Caterer’s license. This applies in Baltimore City through June 30, 2029.
The law creates a Related Event Promoter’s Permit for CIAA‑related events in Baltimore City. You must have this permit before you publicize, sell tickets, or stage the event. It applies when alcohol is served and 75 or more people are expected, including ticketed or cover‑charge events. Apply at least 30 days before and include Visit Baltimore consent when required, any City DOT special event permit, and signed, notarized forms from each participating license holder. The Board responds within 7 days, and you cannot change the permit within 14 days of the event. Fees: $50 to apply, plus $500 if capacity is under 300, or $1,500 if 300 or more (per Fire Marshal). The permit lasts for the time on the City’s special event permit, and the Board can set safety and public‑notice rules. The law takes effect immediately and runs through June 30, 2029, in Baltimore City only.
