This law applies only in Anne Arundel County. All these license rules start on July 1, 2026.
The Board may issue a Class C veterans’ club license to qualifying local units. The license lets the club sell beer, wine, and liquor at the licensed place for on‑site drinking. Sales can be to members and their guests and during events on the premises. If an outside group holds an event there, that group must get a Class C per diem beer, wine, and liquor license. These rules take effect July 1, 2026.
The law sets who can get a Class C veterans’ club alcohol license. Members of all Uniformed Services can qualify, including NOAA and the Public Health Service. The old “served in a war” rule is removed. The group must be made up only of people who served in the Uniformed Services. It must be a local unit of a nationwide nonprofit organization or club with a national charter granted before it applies. It must have at least 100 members and charge at least $5 a year in dues. It must operate for members and meet in a clubhouse mainly used by members. These rules apply starting July 1, 2026.
