2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Address privacy program for survivors

Beginning June 1, 2026, the Secretary of State runs the Address Confidentiality Program. Survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, harassment, or human trafficking can enroll. The State Board of Elections must name a contact person to answer questions from local boards and participants. The Board can set rules to carry out these protections.

Voting uses real address, kept private

Beginning June 1, 2026, local election boards must use your real home address for election tasks, including absentee ballots, if you are in the program. You may not list the program’s substitute address on voter registration. Local boards cannot make your address public. Law enforcement can get it for law enforcement purposes, and a court can order disclosure.
