Veterans get free Maryland State Park entry

Beginning October 1, 2026, veterans and former Maryland National Guard members can enter Maryland State parks without paying day-use entry fees. Show a veteran ID, a state ID that shows you are a veteran, or other ID the Department accepts. Former Maryland National Guard members must have a discharge that is not dishonorable. If one eligible person is in your vehicle, the per-vehicle entry fee is also waived. This waiver does not cover other park charges like camping, rentals, or special programs.
