Study to plan aerospace job programs

Beginning July 1, 2026, Prince George’s Community College must conduct a full study to plan two training programs in aerospace and aviation systems. The study reviews job demand in Maryland, employer needs, degrees and stackable credentials that qualify for federal or State aid, and needed labs, simulators, and equipment. It also covers faculty needs, apprenticeships and internships, start‑up and operating costs, and a timeline. The college must work with aerospace and aviation employers, the state aerospace commission, workforce agencies, and hold employer roundtables. The college must report findings to the legislature by December 1, 2027. For FY2028, the state budget must include $100,000 for this work. This law does not create the programs yet and ends June 30, 2028. If the programs are later established, the college reports each October 1 on job placement.
