Stops local immigration enforcement agreements

Beginning February 17, 2026, the law bans the State and local governments, including county sheriffs, from signing agreements with the federal government to enforce civil immigration law. On that date, any existing agreements must be ended right away using their termination clauses. This stops local participation in federal civil immigration enforcement through these contracts.
