The law bans the State, counties, sheriffs, and their officers from signing deals to enforce civil immigration law. The ban took effect on February 17, 2026. Any existing deal must be ended. If a deal has a termination clause, covered entities must use it immediately as of February 17, 2026. All remaining agreements must be terminated no later than July 1, 2026.
