Medicaid covers collaborative care with no copays

Beginning July 1, 2026, Maryland Medicaid pays for Collaborative Care Model services statewide in primary care clinics that serve enrollees. Medicaid does not charge copays, coinsurance, or deductibles for these collaborative care services. Services must follow the Collaborative Care Model and be delivered in a primary care setting.

Private plans cover collaborative care with no copays

Starting January 1, 2027, health insurers, nonprofit health service plans, and HMOs in Maryland must cover Collaborative Care Model services. Plans may not charge a copay, coinsurance, or a deductible for these collaborative care services. The rule applies to policies issued, delivered, or renewed on or after January 1, 2027, with no exception for high-deductible health plans.
