Worcester alcohol board adds members

Beginning June 1, 2026, the Worcester County alcohol license board has five members instead of three. The Governor appoints all five, and the Senate must confirm. Members must live in Worcester County, be registered voters, and be of high character and recognized business ability. Members serve staggered 4-year terms; the Governor fills any vacancy for the rest of that term. The Governor can remove a member for misconduct, incompetence, or willful neglect after written charges, at least 10 days’ notice, and a public hearing. For the transition, one current member’s term ends June 30, 2027, two end June 30, 2029, and the two new seats start July 1, 2026.
