New portal to find Maryland suppliers

Beginning October 1, 2026, the state runs a searchable Maryland Local Sourcing Portal. It helps Maryland buyers find in‑state suppliers of tariff‑impacted goods and other supplies. Listing is voluntary for Maryland‑based businesses. A listed business can show the kinds of supplies it holds in Maryland and mark inventory as available; the portal does not show exact stock counts. It is searchable by NAICS and meets accessibility and Maryland data privacy standards. The law authorizes the portal through September 30, 2031.

State not liable for portal listings

Beginning October 1, 2026, the state and its employees are not liable for wrong or late data posted by portal participants. The state is also not liable for any deal made between private parties using the portal. Users must handle disputes with the other party, not the state. This protection ends September 30, 2031.
