Maryland law protects your right to display political signs at home in condos, co-ops, and homeowners associations. You can place candidate or ballot-question signs on your own unit, lot, or property. Your association cannot ban or limit them there. Boards can set rules for shared common areas, and those rules must follow federal, State, and local law. If local law does not set a time limit, you may display signs starting 45 days before early voting begins (or 45 days before the election if there is no early voting) and keep them up until 7 days after the vote. This law is in effect now in Maryland.
