More training help for Maryland job seekers

Beginning October 1, 2026, Maryland's health department must maintain a public database of in-state vocational, workforce training, and job placement programs. A dedicated website page must provide application details and a way to contact each program directly. The department must help people enroll and update the database at least every 30 days. These opportunities may help people qualify for or keep Medicaid and SNAP benefits. Maryland's labor, human services, and service and civic innovation agencies must create ways for people to suggest programs. They must forward appropriate suggestions to the health department, but not every suggestion must be included. The health department must coordinate with these agencies, businesses, unions, trade groups, schools, and local workforce boards. These requirements end September 30, 2029.
