Event to-go permits for restaurants and bars

Beginning July 1, 2026, licensed restaurants, bars, and hotels in Worcester County with a Class B or D license can get a Temporary To‑Go Event Permit if they are within or right next to a designated special‑event area. The permit lets them sell beer, wine, and liquor in approved to‑go cups that people can carry into the event area. The permit costs $20 per day and lasts the same days as the town’s Class C per‑diem license, for up to 7 straight days. The county board sets rules for hours, ID checks, cup type, public notices and hearings, and event safety.

Towns can set to-go event areas

Beginning July 1, 2026, the Town of Berlin, Pocomoke City, or Snow Hill can get a Class C per‑diem municipal to‑go license. It costs $45 per day and can run up to 7 straight days. The license lets the town mark a special‑event area and allow approved to‑go cups of beer, wine, and liquor sold by businesses holding a Temporary To‑Go Event Permit to be carried inside that area. The county board sets rules for the area map, hours, ID checks, cup type, public posting and hearings, and event safety.
