Job list for displaced federal firefighters

The law creates a state database of civilian federal firefighters in Maine who lost jobs from a layoff, reduction in force, or closure at a federal site, like a shipyard, military base, or VA facility. You can ask to be listed by sending the Department a copy of your termination notice that shows this reason. The Department shares the list with towns that run municipal fire departments. Your name stays on the list for at least four years unless you ask to be removed. The Department may also get input from firefighter groups to set up the database.
