Job database for displaced federal firefighters

The law creates a state list of civilian federal firefighters who lost jobs in Maine. The Maine Department of Labor runs the database. To be listed, you apply and give a copy of your termination notice. It must show your job ended due to a layoff, reduction in force, or a closure at a federal site in Maine, like a naval shipyard, military base, or VA facility. The Department shares the list with towns and cities that run municipal fire departments. Your name stays on the list for at least four years unless you ask to be removed.
