Must report if sheltering missing child
If you knowingly shelter or help a missing child get shelter for more than 24 hours without the parent, guardian, or custodian’s consent, you must tell police the child’s location and condition when an officer contacts you during the investigation. If you do not report when contacted, you can face a civil fine up to $250.
