Checkout donations for Maine wildlife
The law creates the Make Change for Wildlife program. At checkout, you can choose to add a small donation. If a business collects donations, it must send them to the State Treasurer and mark them for the Maine Endangered and Nongame Wildlife Fund. The Treasurer credits all donations to that fund. The fund can use this money only for endangered and nongame wildlife work allowed by law. This supports Maine’s endangered and nongame wildlife work. The law also removes an older subsection of this statute. The wildlife department must report on the program to lawmakers by January 1, 2026, and the committee may file a bill.
