Pay changes funded for Maine court workers

The law funds salary and stipend changes for Maine court workers in the administrative, supervisory, law enforcement, and professional services bargaining units. Changes cover fiscal years 2025-26 and 2026-27; the agreements set pay amounts, not this law. The State Court Administrator can, but need not, grant similar changes to workers excluded from bargaining under 26 MRS §1282(5)(C)-(F). General Fund funding through the state’s Salary Plan is capped at $10 million combined for years ending June 30, 2026, and June 30, 2027. The emergency law provides immediate effect upon approval, subject to the covered agreements being ratified by December 31, 2025.
