Psychological examiners face fewer licensing barriers
Beginning March 19, 2026, Maine no longer disqualifies psychological examiner applicants solely for failing an exam within the past 6 months. Applicants still need a qualifying master's degree from an accredited school recognized by the licensing board. They also need at least one year of qualifying full-time supervised psychology experience and must pass required exams. Applicants must show trustworthiness and competence to practice safely, and the board must not consider them engaged in unethical practice.
