Maine lobster marketing extended with member limits
The law extends the Maine Lobster Marketing Collaborative’s end date from December 31, 2026, to December 31, 2028. Members continue to receive $55 per day plus expense reimbursement; these payment rules also end on December 31, 2028. The Commissioner appoints members to staggered three-year terms, with no more than two consecutive terms. By January 1, 2028, the Department of Marine Resources must report to the Legislature’s marine resources committee on the Collaborative’s 2026–2027 work. The committee can introduce a bill based on that report in the 133rd Legislature’s Second Regular Session.
