Sebey Lane owners can buy septic land
Maine's parks and lands director can sell about 0.25 acres in Seboomook Township only to owners of 51 Sebey Lane in Big W Township. The land holds their septic system, installed before the state owned the land. The director can negotiate the price or obtain an appraisal. Buyers must pay all transaction costs, including survey, legal, recording, and any appraisal costs.
Towers North can exchange tower land
Maine's parks and lands director can exchange less than 0.25 acres with Towers North, Inc. in Presque Isle. The exchange addresses a boundary issue where a communication tower occupies a small part of state land. Towers North must pay all transaction costs, including legal and recording costs.
Westmanland can receive state road land
Maine's parks and lands director can transfer about 7 acres along Little Madawaska Lake Road to Westmanland without charging for the land. This lets the town improve and maintain the road for local property taxpayers. The town must pay the bureau's attorney fees and boundary survey costs; the bureau cannot pay recording costs. The transfer requires a quitclaim deed with a clause allowing the land to return to the state. The director can set other transfer terms.
