Higher borrowing limit for Ogunquit sewers
The Ogunquit Sewer District’s limit on unpaid bond and note principal rises from $12 million to $17 million. A higher limit can be set under Maine law, Title 38, section 1054. Trustees can approve borrowing without a district vote, receive government aid, and issue debt in one or multiple series. These funds can cover district purposes and necessary expenses. The district can use Title 30-A, section 2354 procedures instead of chapter 121 procedures. Borrowing brings repayment costs, but this law neither requires borrowing nor sets household sewer charges.
