Maine customers face fees for statement copies

Beginning March 19, 2026, Maine allows reasonable fees for special copies of legally required monthly or periodic account statements. Covered requests include replacements, custom date ranges, financial or legal uses, and other labor-intensive or nonroutine copies. Businesses must fully disclose the fee and get your approval before providing the copies. The law sets no fixed dollar cap. Routine required statements remain free.
