New regulator for home repair sellers

The emergency law took effect upon approval on March 9, 2026. Maine’s Office of Professional and Occupational Regulation director replaces the board overseeing transient home repair sellers. The director can deny licenses, refuse renewals, or impose penalties authorized by existing state law. Actions must follow the grounds and penalties in Title 10, section 8003, subsection 5-A, paragraph A.
