Stronger privacy and new investigator rules

If you are a licensed professional investigator or investigative assistant, the state must keep your home address and phone private. The state can share them only with your written consent, by court order, for criminal justice, or for permitting by law enforcement or permitting authorities. The chief can adopt routine rules to run the licensing chapter without board advice. The law also removes outdated sections in this chapter to streamline oversight. It does not change fees or pay.

College outcomes data run by Labor

The Department of Labor now maintains the state’s educational outcome database, with input from the Department of Education. The database includes completion, graduation, credentials, and employment and earnings for graduates over time. By law, it is updated no later than January 1, 2022 and then every two years. The State Education and Employment Outcomes Task Force is ended, and the chapter title now reads Educational Outcome Database.

Inactive boards and commissions eliminated

The law deletes statutory entries for several inactive boards and commissions. It removes their duties and authority from state law. This is an administrative cleanup and does not change taxes, fees, or household benefits.
