Lifetime ferry pass for retired Maine ferry workers
If you are a former Maine State Ferry Service employee getting retirement benefits after at least 15 years, you qualify. You must live year-round on an island the Ferry Service serves. You get a lifetime, nontransferable pass for Maine State Ferry Service trips. Show the pass to skip reservation fees. You can walk on and off the ferry to and from your home island as often as you want. With a vehicle, you get one round trip per month in peak season and two per month in off-peak, under Department of Transportation rules. A vehicle must be noncommercial, have four tires or fewer, and be 20 feet long or less. Reservations must follow rules set by the Department of Transportation.
