Private donations and small school grants

The Commissioner of Education can accept private donations and spend them on education programs. The law provides $500 in fiscal year 2025-26 and $500 in 2026-27 from Other Special Revenue Funds. The Department uses this money for early literacy grants and for grants to help schools use best practices in math. Funds go to the Innovative Teaching and Learning initiative.
