Fantasy operators pay 10% of gross revenue
Licensed fantasy contest operators must pay 10% of their gross fantasy contest revenue to the Maine General Fund. This applies to revenue earned while a submitted license application is pending. There is no minimum revenue threshold. The payment is based on gross receipts, before costs.
Two-player minimum, operator cannot play
Each fantasy contest in Maine must have at least two paying contestants. The operator cannot be a contestant. The operator also cannot pay any entry fee for a contestant. These rules apply to contests and participants covered by state law.
