New reporting rules for forest landowners
If you own Maine forest land and enroll any part in a forest carbon program or project, you must report it to the director. Your report must list the program or project name and the project developer, if not you. Include the protocol or registry and project ID, if you know it. Give the legal landowner name and contact at enrollment, the enrollment period, and total enrolled acres by town, township, or plantation. Landowners enrolled before the rule’s effective date must file by July 1, 2026.
