More help for brain injury survivors

The department contracts with Maine-based brain injury groups to offer core support services. Services include help finding resources, support groups, outreach after a new injury, a joint state and national helpline, an online screening tool, and family caregiver training. The program focuses on underserved people with an acquired brain injury. That includes people with overdose-related anoxic or hypoxic injury, veterans, domestic violence victims, people experiencing homelessness, people not eligible for MaineCare, and people with a new injury. Services run within the department’s available resources.
