Funding boost for Medicaid mental health clinics

Effective March 25, 2025, Maine funds certified community behavioral health clinics. It provides a one-time $2 million state share in FY 2024-25. It allocates federal funds of $5,836,454 (2024-25), $18,107,487 (2025-26), and $19,275,103 (2026-27). It adds federal block grants of $181,750 (2024-25), $563,875 (2025-26), and $600,235 (2026-27). Payments go to state-licensed clinics in the federal CCBHC Medicaid Demonstration to reimburse care for Medicaid patients.

State cuts prior clinic startup funds

Effective March 25, 2025, the state removes $2 million in earlier startup funding for certified community behavioral health clinics. That money had been provided in Public Law 2023, chapter 643, Part A. Organizations that expected that one-time support now get no state startup funds.
