Grants for Maine fire training sites
The law provides a one-time $500,000 General Fund appropriation in fiscal year 2026-27 to the Live Fire Service Training Facilities Fund in the Maine Community College System. The Maine Fire Service Institute uses the money to issue grants, with awards decided by the Maine Fire Protection Services Commission. Grants pay to build, repair, or replace regional live-fire training facilities across Maine. This funding is one-time and available only for fiscal year 2026-27.
