Rental help for homeless K-12 students

The law creates a rental assistance program for households with a homeless student in elementary or secondary school. The Maine State Housing Authority runs the program and must write routine technical rules. A "homeless student" follows the definition in state education law. Beginning July 1, 2025, the state provides $125,000 in FY 2025–26 and $125,000 in FY 2026–27 for this help. The law does not set the per-household amount or say who gets priority.
