One-time health enrollment for police, firefighters
From October 1 to November 30, 2025, the law opens a one-time enrollment window for the retiree health program. It applies to current county or municipal police officers and municipal firefighters who held the job more than five years and earlier declined to enroll. To enroll, you must make a one-time payment equal to 3% of your gross wages from your hire date to your enrollment date. You must complete enrollment and the payment during this window.
