New equal-pay rules for health care workers
Effective June 9, 2025, the law requires Maine's Department of Labor to update its equal-pay rules. Final adoption is required by October 1, 2025. Facilities or entities run by a hospital or health care entity at different locations must count as separate establishments. This separates those locations for equal-pay comparisons. Seniority preferences must be based on years of service, relevant experience, or credentials.
