State health plan covers Maine Tribal-State staff

Employees of the Maine Indian Tribal-State Commission can join Maine’s state group health plan. They enroll under the plan’s usual rules. The law does not set new premium amounts here.

Limits on adding non-state workers to plan

Lawmakers cannot add people who are not state employees to the state group health plan by changing the eligibility list. One exception: workers at a quasi‑government group that gets significant, ongoing General Fund money can be added. This narrows future eligibility expansions.
