No race-based life insurance pricing

Life insurers in Michigan cannot use your race or color for premiums, rates, or policy terms. They cannot pay less on a death claim or require you to accept less because of race. Any policy term that does this is void. If an insurer breaks the rule, the Attorney General can seek a $1,000 civil fine for each violation. Officers or agents who discriminate can face a misdemeanor, up to 1 year in jail, and a $500–$1,000 fine.
