Owners control use; no squatter rights

Beginning July 1, 2026, brief, unauthorized entry or stay on someone’s property does not create any property rights. Only the owner, or someone the owner names, can manage the property or collect payments for its use. This protects homeowners from short-term squatters and from others trying to control or profit from their property.
