Hancock County lodging tax continues through 2029

Effective on passage, the law extends Hancock County’s tourism bureau and lodging-tax provisions from July 1, 2025, to July 1, 2029. It keeps the tax limit at 2% of room charges for stays of 90 days or less. Lodging providers collect the tax from guests, with existing exemptions unchanged. The money remains dedicated to tourism promotion and related activities, with eligible older debt also payable from tax revenue.
