6 provisions identified: 3 benefits, 1 costs, 2 mixed.
If the Board finds a licensee violated the law after notice and a hearing, the licensee must pay the direct costs of the investigation and proceeding.
When bids tie on price, quality, and service, Mississippi Industries for the Blind gets the purchase. The same preference applies to non‑competitive buys when conditions are equal.
The state provides $4,820,735 to run the Medical Licensure Board for July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027. The money pays routine operations. Funds can also pay state IT service charges for cloud upgrades under the Cloud Center of Excellence Act.
The Board can fund key health programs in FY2027. It may grant up to $600,000 to the Mississippi Physician Health Program. Up to $130,000 may support the Prescription Monitoring Program. The Board may also help the Health Department run the Medical Cannabis Act by funding registration and compliance work under a signed agreement.
Personal Services spending is capped at $2,979,811 for FY2027. Of that, $2,862,839 is for salaries and benefits and $116,972 is for vacancy hiring. The Board may fill up to 32 permanent positions and no time‑limited positions. Vacancy funds can only raise headcount, not pay raises or title changes. Salary actions above the cap need approval and new funds; Personal Services money cannot be moved to other uses.
The Board must keep accounting and personnel records at the same detail as in FY2026. Its FY2028 budget request must report how FY2027 targets were met. Spending must follow state law and cannot exceed the appropriation.
