The law funds operations of the House, Senate, and joint offices for July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. It adds $10,280,140 to the House Contingent Fund and $7,153,947 to the Senate Contingent Fund. Joint operations get $1,371,962 from the General Fund and $50,000 from the State Treasury. These funds cover shared and one-time needs.
The law funds legislator pay and allowances for July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. It provides $4,860,061 for House salaries, mileage, insurance, matching funds, and daily expenses. It provides $2,162,873 for the same costs for senators. It also funds monthly allowances: $2,965,649 for House members and $1,223,322 for Senate members.
When two or more bids are equal in price, quality, and service, the Legislature must choose Mississippi Industries for the Blind. The same preference applies to purchases made without competitive bids.
Out-of-state travel by House members or employees is not reimbursed from these funds without House Management Committee approval. Senate members or employees need Senate Rules Committee approval for such reimbursements.
The law caps what the Legislature can spend on the Interstate Cooperation Commission in FY 2027. No more than $15,000 may come from the House Contingent Fund. No more than $10,000 may come from the Senate Contingent Fund.
The law pays $504,726 in state dues for July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. It sends $29,077 to the Southern States Energy Board, $391,129 to Interstate Cooperation, $46,120 to the Uniform State Laws Commissioners, and $38,400 to The Energy Council.
The law funds key joint committees for July 1, 2026 to June 30, 2027. It provides $5,803,724 for the Joint Legislative Budget Committee and $2,998,500 for PEER. It provides $266,780 for the Joint Legislative Reapportionment Committee and $420,000 for the Joint Legislative Code Committee. The Reapportionment Committee must issue semiannual line-by-line spending reports to all lawmakers and meet in state or public buildings.
