Help covering veterans' ACA penalties

The law provides $678,385 from the Capital Expense Fund to the Veterans Affairs Board. It pays Affordable Care Act penalty reimbursements. This funding is for July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.

More support for child protection services

The law provides $15 million from the Capital Expense Fund to run Child Protection Services through June 30, 2027. It covers higher caseload costs, out-of-state therapeutic placements, temporary placements, foster board, and adoption subsidies. It also provides $5 million to repair and improve state-owned child services facilities in Harrison County. These funds support operations and facilities; they do not change eligibility rules.

Funds for state legal case costs

The law provides $250,000 from the Capital Expense Fund to the Attorney General. It pays outside legal help, expert witnesses, court fees, judgments, and settlements, including the JMAA v. Reeves case. Funds are available through June 30, 2027.

Money for Trade Mart fire cleanup

The law provides $1.496 million from the Capital Expense Fund to Agriculture and Commerce. It pays post-fire cleanup at the Trade Mart and the insurance deductible. Any reimbursement received must go back to the Capital Expense Fund. Funds are available through June 30, 2027.

Small funds for animal outbreak response

The law provides $5,234 from the State Treasury to the Board of Animal Health. It covers salaries tied to outbreak response. Funds cover July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.

Start-up funds for next-generation 911

The law provides $2.257 million from the State NG911 Fund to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency. The money covers start-up costs for a statewide next-generation 911 program. Funds cover July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026.

Extra funding to run Medicaid

The law provides $35 million from the Capital Expense Fund to the Division of Medicaid. The money supports agency operations. Funds are available upon passage through June 30, 2027. This is operations funding and does not change who qualifies or what benefits you get.

Support to run Main Street grants

The law provides $196,427 from the Main Street Revitalization Grant Program Fund to the Mississippi Development Authority. It pays to administer the Main Street grant program. The money covers operations upon passage through June 30, 2027, and is not for direct grants.
